A Nation That is Hearing the Wrong Voice
I Sam 3:3-5
3.And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
4. That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
5. And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
In the verses above we read about the boy Samuel who had been assigned by his parents to work in the temple with Eli. Samuel experienced a place spiritually that few people had the honor of. He heard the voice of the Lord at a young age and at a time when the word of the Lord was precious and open visions were rare.
In fact, the Lord spoke to Samuel three times before Eli the priest realized that it was the voice of the Lord. Seasoned saints of the most high God should walk so close to the Lord that they recognize the pattern of his voice immediately.
Often time in this generation we are criticizing the move of God through our young believers because the Lord did not deal with our generation in like manner.
The challenge for today's believers is to settle down and determine if what the young people are hearing is in alignment with what God desires to do in this season. Then we should do like Eli and say; Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. I Sam 3:9
This nation of young people is waiting for us to give them some godly instruction and them back off!!!
