The Day After

The day after can be wonderful or it can be painful. The day after a hangover can be ugly and painful. The day after receiving a newborn to this world, after completing 24 hours of life and in good health, is very exciting.

The day after the resurrection of Jesus Christ placed a challenging twist on religion, the government, and his followers. The religious world could no longer downplay the power of Jesus who they tried to put to death. The government feared that there power was superficial. Jesus’ followers now had to decide how to tell the story which would later become the Gospel.

The day after Jesus being in the tomb, the women received the best surprise of their lives. “And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him” Matthew 28:8-9.

What a worship service that must have been!
